Kenneth Edward McGlenn was born on October 31, 1912 in Woodstock, Illinois.

He attended the Bancroft School in Chicago for grades one through four. For grades four through seven, he attended St. Aloysius Catholic School in Chicago. He went to St. Vincent de Paul for eigth grade and graduated from there in June of 1927.

He began working part-time at the Boston Store in the paint and wallpaper department. He also did odd jobs throughout the Chicago area.

In 1938, he moved to Hialeah, Florida with his mother and two brothers, Raymond and Donald. He worked at the Fort Pierce Hotel during the winter season and at a resort in Eagle River, Wisconsin in 1938 during the summer season. He moved to Fort Pierce in 1939 with his mother and brother Don. He and his brother Don built a house on South U.S. 1.

He met Mary Cecelia Sowinski in December of 1939 and they became engaged in 1941. He was drafted into the army in March of 1941. He spent four and a half years in the service and was released in September of 1945. He began working at St. Anastasia School and worked there until 1963.

Ken and Mary had six children (five boys and one girl). Their first child, Robert Kenneth, was born April 28, 1949. A second child, Mary Ellen, was born September 22, 1950. Their third child, Michael William, was born December 19, 1951. The fourth child, John Patrick, was born August 31, 1954. The fifth child, Richard Edward, was born on September 12, 1955. The sixth child, Peter William, was born December 28, 1956.

During Kenneth's retirement, he enjoyed building things in his workshop and helping out around St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church. He was an excellent gardener and spent much of his time growing his crotons, which can still be found around the house on Marabelle Avenue. Kenneth also loved to sing. he sang in the church choir and just about anywhere he went.

Kenneth Edward McGlenn died on June 14, 2001 in Ft. Pierce at the age of 88.
